He appeared in 14 Ingmar Bergman films over the course of nearly 60 years, most notably in "Cries and Whispers," "Scenes from a Marriage," and "Fanny and Alexander." He also worked for Tarkovsky ("Nostalghia," "The Scarifice"), and in "Hanussen," "The Unbearable Lightness of Being," and "Montenegro."
