Madeline Arakawa Gins

Architect, poet, and painter -- via the New York Times. Created "Reversible Destiny" housing -- eccentrically and nonintuitively designed in order to keep the inhabitants' senses off-balance, with the professed result of staving off death. Indefinitely. It didn't work, but it sure looks cool!

Actor -- via USA Today. Best known as the slimy manager Reuben Kincaid on TV's "The Patridge Family" -- however, he was a prominent part of "Laugh-In" before that. I am ashamed to say that I even remember him in the short-lived 1965 sitcom "Camp Runamuck."

Advertising copywriter -- via the New York Times. One of the best -- she did both the "You don't have to be Jewish to love Levy's real Jewish rye" and "candy-coated popcorn, peanuts, and a prize" for Crackerjack.

Yes, that is Malcom X. He loved the photo!
