Jack Gold
Director for film and TV -- via the Guardian. A supremely underestimated talent, he made many great, overlooked films such as "The Naked Civil Servant," "Man Friday," "Escape from Sobibor," and "The National Health." He was particularly effective working with Nicol Williamson -- he directed him in three of his best film performances: "The Reckoning," "The Bofors Gun," and the BBC-TV "Macbeth" (Gold tackled "Merchant of Venice" for that series as well.) He was not perfect ("The Medusa Touch," anyone?), but very much deserves a look at his body of work.
