Richard Trentlage

One of history's great jingle writers -- via legacy.com. He composed the unforgettable Oscar Mayer Weiner song, in 1962, on his banjo-ukulele. Its instant, massive success led him on to other triumphs, such as the "Buckle Up for Safety" song and the "McDonald's Is Your Kind of Place" ditty, an early commercial hit for the franchise. (Of the McDonald's song, the kids' jungle telegraph of the time shortly spread alternate lyrics across the country, from schoolyard to schoolyard with amazing rapidity:

"McDonald's is your kind of place
They serve you rattlesnakes
They kick you in the face
Ain't got no parking space
McDonald's is your kind of place!")

The guy was a genius.
