Michael Bliss
Historian -- via the New York Times. I love what professor Shelley McKellar says about him in the story, that he wrote "clear, nonacademic prose that made the subject accessible to the general public. . . . 'He always tried to disseminate his research to the widest possible audience.'" As do all good writers!
