Cowboy who portrayed comic-strip cowboy hero Red Ryder for half a century in personal appearances -- via the Albuquerque Journal. Not to be confued with those who layed Rydre on film and TV -- "Red" Barry, "Wild Bill" Elliott, and Alan "Rocky" Lane. The character was immensely popular for a time, but is remembered today primarily as a reference in the film "A Christmas Story."
