Janet Waldo
Actress and voiceover artist -- via News from ME. Film, radio, and TV, in that order. The ever-present Waldo's first film credit came in 1938, in radio in 1941. She memorably voiced Corliss Archer, the heroine of the popular radio series "Meet Corliss Archer," from 1944 through 1956. (My dad would regularly exclaim "Holy cow, Corliss!", quoting Corliss's sidekick Dexter Franklin.) Television-watching children of the 1960s will remember her as the voice of cartoon characters such as Judy Jetson, Penelope Pitstop, Josie in "Josie and the Pussycats." and Granny Sweet in "Atom Ant."
