Rhys Isaac
Australian historian, the only to ever win a Pulitzer Prize. He won for his 1983 tome, "The Transformation of Virginia, 1740-1790."
I knew, respected, learned from and taught from Rhys Isaac's work. He was simply a wonderful historian and a terrific person. I just learned of his death, and feel the news reverberating through me.
Only now have I heard of Rhys's passing. He was a wonderful person, an amazing historian - not my supervisor but through his questioning and commentary contributed much to the final work.
Vale Dear Rhys, My Supervisor and dear friend. I'll meet you in Zora's Eatonville, Florida on Joe Clarke's Store Porch. With love Angela Raphael
