Ted Post
Director of film and TV -- via the Hollywood Reporter. A key though largely unsung player during the days of live TV, the glut of TV Westerns of the '50s and '60s, and beyond. His film work was remarkably varied -- he directed Clint Eastwood in "Hang 'em High" and "Magnum Force," helemd the riveting Vietnam film "Go Tell the Spartans," and worked on other projects such as "Beneath the Planet of the Apes." For every "important" director out there, there are a dozen talented and hardworking directors who never get the spotlight. Take a bow, Ted!

Elmore Leonard
Writer -- via the New York Times. One of the most successful genre writers in American history, he specialized in Old West stories, the moved into hard-boiled crime fiction. He could not only writer a story, he could invest it with sharp observation, humor, and an affable, world-weary wisdom. Proof that you can be popular and write well at the same time! Among his writings are numerous titles that became classic films, including "3:10 to Yuma," "The Tall T," "Hombre," "Valdez is Coming," 52 Pickup," "Get Shorty," and "Jackie Brown."
