  1. She was elegant, brilliant, dignified, and adored by many of us in the women's baseball community. Dorothy represented the struggles many girls and women face even today, in 2019,just to participate in baseball, and the triumph of her quiet, relentless battle to gain the recognition she had more than earned in the face of her husband's petty jealousies about her significant contributions to "his" magnum opera has become a beacon of uplifting optimism. She was the Mother of All Baseball Research, a gifted and prolific writer with a sly sense of humor, and a warm, supportive friend who was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
